Don’t stop until you get to Bollywood.
(AUDIO: Don’t Stop by Bollywood Freaks)
Michael Jackson was a puzzle that didn’t quite work. Almost a genius (or occasionally brilliant, at minimum), he lived + thrived on an otherworldly creative and personal plane.
Michael Jackson’s art was capable and dazzling, his private life tumultuous, contradictory and idolic. Sadly, he fulfilled his critic’s expectations and became the proverbial car crash or disaster series; millions of half-interested people would become more fascinated with his bizarre and idiosyncratic behavior than the depth and undefinable individuality of his music.
This equally bizarre (and dazzling) cover by the Hindi-singing Bollywood Freaks (of Delhi, India) is almost impossible not-to-listen-to. Uncited as a cover and lost in the infinite and abyssmal archives of the Indian pop music genre, Michael Jackson’s subliminal influence continues to multiply in legend and myth.
